The most beautiful Class 222's baffling acceleration in a 10-car formation! - Departure -

Getting closer and closer to my next visit to The UK, it is time for my final 222 104 capture; East Midlands Railway's most beautiful and only full purple/mauve Class 222 Meridian high-speed, diesel-electric multiple unit! 💜

What also isn't too long away, is the retirement of the units at EMR, which is an absolute shame if you ask me. I can only advocate for the preservation of at least this beautiful train, but I honestly don't understand why EMR doesn't keep part of the fleet for services to Manchester for example. I can only hope they find a new home after their final days...

But on to today's video!

My final capture of the magnificent, purple unit was at the station of Loughborough, where I found 222 104 in a 10-car formation with 222 005, bound for London St. Pancras. We once again get treated to some magnificent acceleration footage by the units, as we see the 10-car formation fly off like a rocket. Mind-baffling! And doesn't she look fantastic under the blue sky, making for a beautiful combi of colours. Gorgeous! 💜🥰

So after the full throttle departure at East Midlands Parkway, the 120 m/h fly-by at Loughborough and the staggering departure footage at Sheffield under the clear blue sky (link in the top card), this was my final capture of the magnificent unit, during my last UK stay. Don't worry however; as the unit is high on my "must capture list" during my next stay in September, where it might just be my final chance to capture the beautiful Meridian for a final time...
