BMW R 12 nineT Unboxing

The R nineT was presented in 2013 for BMW Motorrad's 90th anniversary and now, ten years later the time has come to open a new chapter in the book of air-cooled boxer engines. Just in time for the 100th anniversary of BMW Motorrad in 2023, the R 12 nineT takes up its legacy.

The heart of the R 12 family is another evolutionary stage of the 1170 cc air- / oil-cooled boxer engine, which already fired up the R nineT – family and will also pump the gasoline through the cylinder heads in the future. Otherwise, hardly any screw was left in its thread. The backbone with a classic trellis frame, a flatly arranged shock absorber and a revised engine periphery was developed from scratch.

This makes the R 12 nineT as a retro roadster even more handy and agile to ride while remaining classic and timeless in its appearance. The brushed aluminum parts are still important style elements of the vehicle, as well as the golden upside-down fork and the two round instruments.

Next to it the brand new R 12 invites to enjoy casual cruising. The relaxed seating position and the accessible vehicle geometry make this bike inviting and the customization options are limitless. The R 12 is a superior companion for a relaxed ride, in every situation.
