Grande Island Resort is located in the middle of the calm, blue waters of Subic Bay, Philippines. Blessed with a rich historical legacy dating back to the Spanish era and an untouched forest area, it invokes colorful imaginations of how Grande Island used to be.

Grande Island Resort is a 2.5 hour drive from Manila passing through the old route using the San Fernando exit from NLEX. However, with the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), travel time is only 1.5 hours from Balintawak, Quezon City, Metro Manila to Subic. The island is accessible by speed boat and is approximately 10 to 15 minutes away from the Subic Bay mainland.

Fort Wint situated in the middle of the island was part of the harbor defenses of Manila and Subic Bays built by the Philippine Department of the United States Army between 1907 and 1920 in response to recommendations of the Taft Board prior to the non-fortification clause of the Washington Naval Treaty. Fort Wint was located on Grande Island at the entrance of Subic Bay, approximately 35 miles (56 km) north of Manila Bay. The fort was named for Brigadier General Theodore J. Wint. As specified in the National Defense Act of 1935, this was one of the locations where coastal artillery training was conducted. A battery of the 60th Coast Artillery (AA) was stationed here.
