A 2/1LPC may sound complicated but it's very simple. Usually a cable stitch has you knitting all of the stitches involved. This technique is similar except the left needle stitches are worked in purl to keep the background crisp.

So if you have two stitches on your cable needle, you'll purl the required number of stitches from the left needle (in this video, that's just one stitch because this is a 2/1 cable), then knit all of the cable needle stitches as usual.

That's all there is to it. But if the technique still has you confused, you can totally fudge it and just knit all of the required stitches. It won't ruin your project and you'll still finish with a great project.
