What is a Clinical Associate?

The Bachelor of Clinical Medical Practice is one of the newly conceptualized medical programmes within the past decade. As part of the Clinical Associates 10-Year Celebration, The Division of Clinical Associates within The Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care at The Faculty of Health Sciences, Wits took time to shed some light on the programme.

The video features experts in the field (healthcare professionals and lecturers), as well as the BCMP students who reflect on their journeys and educate us about this programme: how it all started; the role and contribution of Clinical Associates within the South African healthcare system; the required skills and expertise; some of the highlights and challenges that came with the experience, and more!
