I had more fun playing with this thing than I anticipated. The video output is great a very compelling for kids who can see little things up on a big screen or projector in real time.

The scope can save photos to an SD card. Recording 1080p video will require some video capture hardware in a PC as there is no recording hardware built in. An alternative is to connect it to a PC or Mac with a USB cable which will transmit 720p video to a computer. The microscope appears as any webcam and should work with any application that supports one without a driver.

I would like to see something around this price point with more magnification to see the details of cells, etc. But it can get very close up views of every day things that will most certainly capture the attention of kids (and adults like me). It's a lot of fun.
