Laljal Cave

It is about 68 Km away from the city of Jhargram. The clean road through the forest gives the pleasure for eyes. The last 3 km of the journey through the red-dirt road on a rocky hill. The place witness remains a place of ancient civilization. The cave is at the high of 200 meters with black stones . It is believed that it was the living place of primitive cave man about 5000 years ago. Some fossils found here by archaeological excavation which are preserved in museum. Water is mixed with Copper and iron. Local people say because of the red color of the water in the name of the area is laljal.

How to Reach :

*The nearest Airport is Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata, India, which is about 188 km to Jhargram.

*Distance between Kolkata to Jhargram is 154 km by Train. From Howrah/Tatanagar avail the Express/Local Train to reach Jhargram Station. One train takes the minimum time to reach Jhargram from Kolkata 2 hours 24m.

*Distance between Kolkata to Jhargram is 178 km by Road. From Kolkata via NH6(Mumbai-Kolkata Highway) by Car you can reach at Jhargram within 4 hour’s journey. From Jhargram town to Belpahari ( 37 KM) by road. From Belpahari to Laljal (20 km) by road. The last 3 km of the journey through the red-dirt road on a rocky hill.
