Repack Wheel Bearings Grand Design Imagine 2150RB Travel Trailer

I repacked by wheel bearings for the first time. I saved $350, but it takes me all day. It will be much faster the next time.

Check List
1) Gather tools and parts
2) Loosen lug nuts
3) Raise wheel off ground, one side or one tire at a time
4) Remove wheel
5) Remove dust cover. It has a rubber ring, inspect and consider replacement
6) Remove nut retainer
7) Remove nut, turning to the left
8) Remove the outer bearing and washer, by pulling out on the drum while turning slightly
9) Remove drum
10) Inspect break and make sure it’s working properly
11) Remove excess grease from the spindle
12) Remove inter grease seal, will be replaced.
13) Remove the inter bearing
14) Clean grease from inside drum
15) Clean and inspect bearings for possible replacement
16) Pack bearings
17) Place inter / back bearing into drum
18) Install inter grease seal, flush with outside of drum
19) Put the drum back on with light layer grease on spindle
20) Pack the outside bearing
21) Install outside bearing, D washer, nut, rotate nut until it stops and back off a quarter of a turn
22) Install nut retainer
23) Install dust cover
24) Remount tire

4. Jack stand
5. Torque Wrench
6. Bearing Packer
7. Grease Gun
8. 2x4
9. Hammer

Supplies
1. Bearing Grease, synthetic high temperature
2. Grease seal
