ARMY WELFARE TRUST HOUSING SOCIETY

AWT D-18 Islamabad launched about 20 years ago with the concept of providing cheap residence to army officials and other employees of AWT in Islamabad. The housing scheme consists of blocks A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H; all blocks are fully developed and ready for construction. There are just a few houses constructed in the society but more construction is expected after the Sangjani Interchange is complete and opens up direct access to the society. The society is expected to launch few more blocks after the completion of the Interchange due to the fact that the demand for properties is much higher than the number of plots available in the society. Further expansion will be made in order to the cater to the increasing demands

AWT Islamabad is a fully developed housing scheme. It has all utilities and facilities available which includes roads, streets, street lights, sewerage, water, electricity and gas. A concrete boundary wall surrounds the society which is an additional feature of AWT. It has planned parks, mosques, commercial areas, schools, hospitals, cinemas etc in the scheme which will be available for the residents of AWT as soon as the society is inhabited. It is expected to be fully populated in the next 4 to 5 years due to the increasing investment trend in the society.

AWT Islamabad lies at around 15 KM from main Islamabad City. If you check the location of AWT on google maps, you will be able to understand the location in a better way. It lies on the M-1 motorway. If we travel towards Peshawar, its A block lies to the right side of the motorway and the remaining blocks are situated to the left side of the motorway. It is in fact an ideal location after the expansion of Islamabad and higher property prices in most of the CDA sectors. AWT is also closer to New Islamabad International Airport; average distance is around 10 minutes drive from the airport. Its neighboring societies are Engineers Cooperative Housing Scheme, Wapda Town, Ministry of Commerce Employees Cooperative Housing, Gulshan-e-Sehat and PECHS.

WAPDA TOWN ISLAMABAD

The Society was registered with Circle Registrar Co-operative ICT Islamabad under registration # 157 vide Letter No. 1978-81 /CR/B dated 05-09-1983.
Purchase of land further housing scheme started in Feb, 1992. The day to day working of the Society is governed by the Society By-lays and its manage and controlled by the Management Committee elected by the AGM by all members of the Society. The Elected MC further constitutes sub-committees for the distribution of workload. The sub-committees comprise of elected executive members and external professional as empowered by the By-Laws of the Society.
Society Elections which was to be held on 25-09-2021 has been Postponed. New date will be shared later on as per the announced schedule.

LOCATION

WAPDA Town Islamabad (WAPDA Employees Cooperative Housing Society) is located about 35 KM from Zero Point Islamabad towards North West. It is about 10 KM from New Islamabad International Airport and about 1 KM from CPEC Interchange. Society is directly connected to M1 motorway through AWT-Paswal Interchange. The Society's land falls in CDA purposed Sector C-18/19. Extension Zone- II Islamabad.

BY LAWS

The By-Laws of the Society were approved by the Circle Registrar Cooperative Societies Islamabad vide Letter No. Misc/CR/ICT/B/1047 dated 2 Jun 2006.
