Meet Catherine Sheehy, Program Manager at UL Environment. Also, get to know Gretchen Digby, Director of Global Sustainability Programs at Ingersoll Rand. Together, for IPMDAY 2015, they took on the topic: “Design for Sustainability (DfS).”

Leading companies now realize that they need to incorporate sustainability into their product development processes for the consumers. To do that, they need product development teams, who know how to “think” in terms of sustainability. Fostering such thinking requires shifts bigger than the single product on the shelf – it’s about transforming corporate culture.

This session highlighted as a case study a collaborative partnership between UL Environment and Ingersoll Rand in fostering sustainability, ending with a brief overview of steps that companies can take to start incorporating design for sustainability thinking in their organizations.
