Owls are small, predatory creatures related to vultures. Their ability to fly quickly and completely silently makes them a dangerous foe in dark areas, but if given enough food, they can learn to trust the slugcat and become allies...
FUN FACTS/EXTRAS ABOUT THE OWLS
.The Rainbow and Albino variants are based on the Rainbow and Albino versions of regular and king vultures already seen in-game
.The owl design was mostly influenced by the Great Horned Owl, as well as Barn Owls
.Each mask is based on a different species of owl:
.Spikes: Screech Owl
.Smooth: Barn Owl
.Disc: Great Grey Owl
.Big Eyes: Great Horned Owl
.The Owl's ability to fly completely silently is based on real-world owls, who have modified flight feathers to fly completely quietly.
.This is also the reason Owls are weak to water, as in real-world owls, the silent flight feather came at the cost of the waterproof oils that coat normal birds' feathers, and getting too wet will leave them unable to fly.
.The owls screeching before hunting behavior is based on behavior seen in barn owls, where they screech in order to scare prey into running in order to make them easier to see
