FORD MAVERICK Review as General Contractor. (Maverick vs Ford Transit Van all wheel drive.)

Описание к видео FORD MAVERICK Review as General Contractor. (Maverick vs Ford Transit Van all wheel drive.)

I recently bought the all new Ford Maverick to replace my work vehicle which was previously the Ford Transit 350 AWD. I’m a general contractor and using the Maverick as my whip for work.

The gas mileage is pretty good over all, loaded down in getting about 23mpg at 5000+ ft of elevation and doing primarily city driving.

That’s mileage is while living in colorado and then moving to Utah, all of which involves much higher elevation.

That said, when driving in on the open road in Texas my mileage typically runs around 26 loaded down. So all these things considered as far as gas mileage is concerned I’ll take it!

As for the small bed- it’s small but for the most part it seems fine- I intend to build a rack in which I will store the big stuff and if I need something super big I’ll pull a trailer.

This is the secret of contracting if you ask me- spend money where you NEED it! But don’t spend money where it’s irrelevant.

For example- gas mileage will BURN up your costs lugging around a truck that gets 12 miles to the gallon... and then most of the time you’ll still need a trailer for the big jobs.

So why not just get something smaller with great gas mileage and can tow when needed?

Makes a lot more sense to me!

Yes there’s definitely restrictions in terms of the bed- but if you’re really a working contractor you know that a bed rack- ideally even an over the cab rack is inevitable and endlessly useful.

So spend your money where u need it! And where you don’t- don’t waste it!
