Welcomes🤝 to my cherished 💖brothers @princewilliamroyal🦁🏴👑🦄 and @princeharryofengland 🦁🏴👑🦄 and my darlings 🍯 friends 💖@dofcambridge🦁🏴👑🦄 Kate and Duchess of Sussex 🦁🏴👑🦄 @meghanmarkleofficial and my love💖, my orange blossom 🌼🍊 @amelwindsor 🦁🏴👑🦄in the fabulous Village of Manarola 🦁🇮🇹👑🦁🏰⛲⛪🇻🇦🌊🐬 originated from the migration of populations who from the Val di Vara 🏞️💖 and the Roman settlement of Volastra🦁🇮🇹👑🦁🏰⛲⛪🇻🇦🏞️💖 moved towards the sea to exploit its resources. Its name derives, perhaps, from the Latin Manium arula, which means "small temple dedicated to the Mani", but this etymology still remains very uncertain. Upstream from the town there is the main square of Manarola, around which there are the Oratory of the Disciplinanti, the bell tower 🏰🔔 and the parish church of Saint Lawrence 🇻🇦💖 , in Genoese 🖼️🏴👑 Gothic style and dating back to 1338. The facade of the church, in sandstone local, is characterized by a valuable rose window in Carrara 🏔️ marble from 1375. The castle🏰 was the defensive bulwark of the village against the raids of Saracen pirates and around it the central nucleus of the town grew; over the centuries the building has become a private residence, but it is still well recognizable for its rounded stone structure; its access door is in via del Baluardo. The last stretch of Via Belvedere is also very suggestive, which constitutes a real balcony overlooking the sea ending in a panoramic square dedicated to Eugenio Montale📜 , on whose plaque the first lines of the Riviere poem are shown: "Riviere, just a few stocchi are enough of weeds hanging from a ridge on the delirium of the sea. " On 10 August, the feast of Saint Lawrence 🇻🇦💖 , the patron saint of Manarola🦁🇮🇹👑🦁🏰⛲⛪🇻🇦🏞️💖 , is held every year. In the evening a procession takes place through the streets of the town, culminating with the transfer of the sedan chair with the statue of the saint on a boat🚣🏻♂️ , which, starting from the Palaedo🦁🇮🇹👑🦁🏰⛲⛪🇻🇦 and 💖 landing place, returns to the Marina⛵ . From here the procession resumes which, climbing up to Serravalle🏞️ , it ends at the church of Saint Lawrence 🇻🇦💖 . Since 1961, during the Christmas 🎄☃️🌠👼🏻🌌🏚️👨👩👦🎅🏻🦌 🛷🎁 period, a suggestive luminous nativity scene (the largest in the world) has been set up on the hill overlooking the village, whose characters, handcrafted by master Mario Andreoli, a retired railway worker, are made up of thousands and thousands of lights mounted on special shapes that give the representation a unique charm in the world. The statues are made with recycled materials (old shutters, plastic containers, wood, iron rods), to illuminate the first cross he used the battery of a car to transmit the current, while for the two crucified thieves he came to use 15,000 bulbs. In addition to the famous nativity scene, during the Easter 🥚🎀🐦 period, Mario Andreoli 👨🏻🎨 creates a luminous Via Crucis ✝️🕯️ on the same hill.
J hug you🧸,
