At some point you will have to replace your brake pads. Ideally you check your brakes once every year & clean/lube the calipers. Sometimes due to poor maintenance the brake pads wear uneven & then you have to replace them earlier to maintain your brake system in top performance.

Whatever the case, this video shows how to replace your front brake pads & walks you through the process on a Vstrom 2017 but the process is similar for all motorcycles.
