The Peloton Bike+ and NordicTrack S27i are two of the most popular exercise bikes on the market. They have a lot of similarities, but overall we prefer the S27i.

The bikes are similar in size, however, the S27i is heavier. This makes it a little more challenging to move around, but moving both bikes is possible when needed. The NordicTrack S27i has a large 350 lb weight capacity, versus the Bike+ has a 297 lb capacity. All of our reviewers are able to get good bike fits on both models. There are three adjustment points: the saddle moves up/down and forward/back and the handles move up/down. This is common on bikes with attached touch screens.

Both bikes offer smooth, stable rides and have steel frames. The NordicTrack S27i offers more functionality because it has an attached motor that inclines and declines the bike’s frame while you ride. The incline goes up to 20% and the decline goes to -10%, and this simulates the feeling of riding up and down hills outdoors. The Peloton Bike+ just offers a standard riding experience.

They use adjustable magnetic resistance which is quiet on both bikes. They are appropriate for use in any space because they make minimal noise. Even the motor on the NordicTrack is quiet. The Peloton offers 100 levels of resistance, while the NordicTrack has 24 levels. With the incline/decline, you get more range with the tension though.

The Peloton Bike+ and NordicTrack S27i require subscriptions to access the content on the screens. Peloton uses the Peloton app which offers primarily indoor studio cycling classes. The NordicTrack uses iFit and has a large library of outdoor rides. Both subscriptions are well-filmed.

Overall, our top recommendation is the NordicTrack S27i. The functionality paired with the content makes it stand out and fun to ride. Peloton is great if you’re looking for a bike that displays Peloton’s classes.
