In its most recent sector performance assessment, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission found that home care providers had significant difficulties complying with the standards.

64 services were determined to be non-compliant out of 82 audits completed, an increase of more than 50% over the previous quarter.
 
The two biggest areas of non-compliance were Standard 2 - Ongoing assessment and planning and Standard 8 - Organisational government. More than half of service audits revealed ineffective governance systems, and other significant non-compliance issues included assessment and planning failing to inform safe and effective services, failing to conduct routine reviews of care and services, and lacking risk management systems and procedures.
