First Iteration of project Nova Imperium. A 3D Space 4X Prototype created using Construct 3.

This project started as an experiment to test the 3D capabilities of Construct 3. As the results seemed promising rather quickly, I decided to further pursue this project into hopefully making a full game.

In this iteration I have implemented procedural Galaxy Generation, Star Systems, Stars and Planets.
I have implemented slight optimization measures, such as only loading and rotating star 3D objects when they are close to the camera, and different LODs (Level of Detail) have been created for the 2D objects, such as the star system areas and the glow of the stars. The results are very seamless and improve performance quite a lot.

Planets have no optimization implemented yet and currently are always visible, which has big impact on frame rate when zooming out. Something that should be fairly easy to implement for the next version.

Planets have lots of effects to improve the visuals. Runs perfectly fine on desktop, however on phone they need to be removed. Doesn't make a lot of difference though, since smaller screens require less detail.

Native Resolution is 2560x1440. Tested on mobile (low-end android) prior to adding Planets, and without effects on the stars, and it ran smoothly.
