WGN Channel 9 - Tom Skilling Weather Update (1978)

Описание к видео WGN Channel 9 - Tom Skilling Weather Update (1978)

Here's the one-minute weather forecast from WGN Channel 9's Tom Skilling (as he would do a more comprehensive forecast on the NewsNine broadcast at 10pm) - this is some of the earliest, if not the earliest footage of Tom that we've found - he had started at WGN only a few months before, in August 1978.

Here, Tom tells us (after accidentally wishing us a good afternoon rather than good evening) basically, temperatures in the 30's this evening, followed by a Pacific air front that would bring temperatures in the 60's and possibly even 70's over the next few days, especially before the weekend.

(c) 1978, WGN Continental Broadcasting Co.

This aired on local Chicago TV on Monday, November 6th 1978 during the 8:00pm to 10:00pm timeframe.

About The Museum of Classic Chicago Television:

The MCCTv (FuzzyMemoriesTV) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose primary mission is the preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s to early 80s, mostly) recorded off of TV (in Chicago or other cities now too); things which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. If you have any old 1970s videotapes recorded off of TV please email: [email protected] Even though (mostly) short clips are displayed here, we preserve the entire broadcasts in our archives - the complete programs with breaks (or however much is present on the tape), for historical preservation. For information on how to help in our mission, to donate or lend tapes to be converted to digital, please e-mail [email protected] Thank you for your help!
