For over 30-years the NASCAR Winston Cup Series was the most popular form of Motorsports in the world thanks to the vision of two men. In an earlier Video I visited the grave of Ralph Seagraves, the man who had the had the grand vision to sponsor the entire NASCAR Grand National Series. When Ralph retired a from R. J. Reynolds in 1985, he turned the reins of the Sports Marketing Division over to T. Wayne Robertson who further expanded Winston's involvement in NASCAR and R.J.R. sponsorship in other sports. The NASCAR Winston Cup Series was at its height in 1998 when T. Wayne died in a Boating accident in Louisiana.

Some people say that NASCAR’s decline began with the death T. Wayne Robertson, followed closely by the deaths of the sports most popular Drive Dale Earnhardt, in 2001 and the loss of the Winston Sponsorship in 2003. The final blow came in 2007 with the death of the man that ruled the sport with an Iron Hand Bill France.

But for more than 30-year, The NASCAR Winston Cup Series enjoyed a popularity that will never be seen again thanks to T. Wayne Robertson and Ralph Seagraves.
