Welcome back to The Draw Step, your hub for all things Magic: The Gathering! This week, LaRue and Matthews dove into an Avatar: The Last Airbender draft, followed by some head‑to‑head duels and a late‑night Commander pod.

The night kicked off with Isaac and Josh drafting play boosters—two each—to build 40‑card decks and battle in a best‑of‑three series. LaRue stuck to Izzet colors, while Josh went wide with a four‑color build.

Next, LaRue brought out his “toughness matters” deck from Tarkir Dragonstorm earlier this year. Josh rotated through a few decks in an effort to take it down, but ultimately fell short with Jared Carthalion and Caesar, Legion Emperor.

Finally, Skylar and Emily joined in for a four‑player Commander pod. It was a late evening, and while the girls tapped out early, the guys played through to the end.
