Happy Birthday Elbridge Bryant! (The Temptations - I Want a Love I Can See live 1963)

Today ‪@temptin_temptations‬ and I are bringing you a special post for one of the founding members of The Temptations, Mr. Elbridge "Al" Bryant!

Al was part of the merging between The Primes and The Distants to make what is known as the greatest vocal group in the history of music, The Temptations.

He had such a beautiful floating tenor that soared so high. You can hear him hitting them notes in The Tempts' earlier recordings. A lot of people get Al and Eddie's voice mixed up, but if you listen enough, there's a clear distinction. Al had a vibrato to his voice that was very unique to him.

Although he parted ways with The Tempts in 1964, he'll always be Temptation. He deserves his flowers just as much as the other founding members.

Today we're sharing a live version of "I Want a Love I Can See" that featured Paul and Al sharing the vocals. I love this version because it's nice to hear Mr Bryant shine!
