A ground-breaking hybrid of 'Ted Talks', a theatre show and a ‘micro’ conference, and designed to be accessible to all Aotearoa, M9 presents nine unique, juxtaposed Māori voices, each with a unique perspective in celebration of Matariki and Te Ao Māori

Championing Te reo Māori as a source of unifying strength for all New Zealanders has been a passion Stacey Morrison has shared across media, books and education. Stacey works as a member of Te Pūtahi-a-Toi at Massey University, and through a community approach to engagement and language planning in many different wānanga settings. An author of kaupapa and te reo Māori books, her latest book Kia kaha - co-authored with Jeremy Sherlock – won Best Children’s book in the Booklover’s award. Stacey was also named Columnist of the year for her work in Woman magazine, in the Webstar Magazine awards in 2022. As well as being part of the breakfast show on Flava, with Anika Moa and Mike Puru, Stacey has been involved in voluntary work for many years. She is an ambassador for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ and Keep NZ Beautiful, co-chair of E-tangata trust, Chair of her children’s intermediate school and sits on the Spark Foundation.

Stacey joined the impressive line-up of all-wāhine creatives and thought-leaders who took the stage to inspire, empower and entertain with unique stories that speak to the event's theme, Matariki Rau Mahara - the Power of Reflection.
