Today we have a 2011 GSXR1000 in the shop! This is a bike we've tuned before, but today we're going to touch up the original tune as well as add a tune for E85.

E85 is a type of fuel that contains 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. Ethanol is an alcohol-based fuel made from crops like corn. Here’s why racers often prefer E85:

Higher Octane Rating: E85 has a higher octane rating compared to regular gasoline, meaning it can withstand higher compression and resist engine knock. This allows engines to produce more power, especially in turbocharged or high-compression setups.

Cooler Combustion: E85 burns cooler than regular gas, which helps reduce engine heat and improve efficiency, making it ideal for high-performance applications.

Increased Power Potential: Because of its chemical properties, E85 allows engines to run more aggressively with higher boost or advanced timing, which can significantly increase horsepower.

Affordable Performance: E85 is often less expensive than race fuels with similar performance benefits, making it a cost-effective choice for racers.

The main downside is that E85 burns faster, meaning it requires more fuel to achieve the same mileage, and it may need fuel system upgrades to handle the ethanol. But for racers seeking performance, the power benefits often outweigh the drawbacks.

Can you run E85 without a tune? Can I put E85 in my motorcycle? We'll show you exactly what happens if you run E85 without a tune so you don't make the same mistake others have made. We also go over a few other things in this video like proper clutch adjustment on your motorcycle. When it comes to getting the most performance out of your motorcycle, there are a ton of variables to keep in mind to ensure your bike is running and riding the way it should be!

At the end, I'll show you the before and after dyno sheets so you can see what difference E85 fuel can make for your motorcycle if done properly with a full dyno tune.
