A Wartime Vise: The Full Restoration of a Paramo Classic

Описание к видео A Wartime Vise: The Full Restoration of a Paramo Classic

In this video, I restore an old English Paramo vise, a tool with an interesting history. The company was founded during World War II after German air raids on Record's factories, which produced tools and vises. The British had to relocate production to factories that previously made cast iron pipes and transfer some of the skilled workforce to these new facilities to resume production. And so, Paramo was born.

The vise I’m working on is a part of this fascinating story. I’ve thoroughly restored it: disassembled it down to the smallest parts, de-rusted, sandblasted, and painted the pieces that needed it. I also fabricated missing elements. Now, the vise works flawlessly and looks great.
