Predicting meteor showers can often be like predicting the weather where a certain degree of inventive moderation is best included. Joe explores the phenomena of meteor showers and explains why predictions, even by the experts, can often be misleading to the general public.


Who is Joe Rao?
JOE RAO is a five-time Emmy nominated meteorologist at News 12 Hudson Valley. He has co-lead several eclipse expeditions and served as an on-board meteorologist for three eclipse cruises. He is also an Associate and Guest Lecturer at the Hayden Planetarium, a Contributing Editor for Sky &Telescope magazine and also writes for Space.com, Natural History magazine, and the Farmers’ Almanac.
