How to Download a Gedcom File from Ancestry.com (2020)

In this episode, I explain how and why you want to download a Gedcom file from Ancestry.com. You can download your Ancestry family tree data so you can upload it to another service using a Gedcom file. CLICK SHOW MORE.

This will save you a ton of typing. Keep in mind that it will not download the images or records from Ancestry.com, only the data such as birth, marriage, death, military and such... the data that you find in the fields are what downloads in the Gedcom file.
