Ahh dozers. Where to begin? This simple machine here might very well be the catalyst for Menard Metal Craft as it is today. It was a dozer similar to this in style that I made in 2019 while laid off briefly from an employer. The initial response to the dozer was enough so that it pushed me to opening my Etsy shop, so that someone might have the ability to purchase it. One thing led to another and here we are today. Needless to say, this little guy has a special place in my heart. Modeled after the Cat D6, as that was the common dozer I remember seeing CalFire use to clear fire break lines.
This build utilizes a variety of scrap materials, starting with an A325 grade USA made bolt for the body, salvaged as left overs from a structural steel job. The dozer treads/tracks are made from old forklift mast chain, and the Hydraulic rams (spark plugs) are from my very own Toyota Tacoma. The steering wheel is a Nelson Stud, and the rear drag bar has been forged from abandoned and reclaimed railroad spikes.
Weighing in at 11 pounds 7 ounces, with a length of 10 Inches, height of 5 1/4 inches and a width of 5 inches.
