Shigekazu Shimazaki was an officer in the Imperial Japanese Navy who led the second wave of aircraft that attacked Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941. Shimazaki’s Nakajima B5N2 Kate led fifty four bombers and seventy eight dive-bombers. Along with Mitsuo Fuchida, leader of the first wave, Shimazaki were granted an audience with the Emperor Hirohito. Shimazaki also took part in the Battle of the Coral Sea where they sank USS Lexington. He was promoted to Commander in 1944 and when he died in January 1945 was posthumously made a Rear Admiral.

Today's example is from Hobby Master. It is 1:72nd scale and made of diecast with plastic accessories. The model is of the Nakajima B5N2 Kate flown by Lt. Cdr. Shigekazu Shimazaki, carrier Zuikaku, Pearl Harbor, Dec 7th 1941.

All images/and or footage used with in my videos are owned by their original creators and are only used for a reference guide for viewers to compare against the model depicted in the video. The use of any images or video in any of my reviews is also used out of pure respect in regard to units and/or actual people. I wish to acknowledge all those that have served past and present with their respective nations armed forces with some making the ultimate sacrifice. Political ideals aside, it takes great courage and selflessness to answer your countries call. Thank you.
