Toruń is one of the best preserved Polish cities and one of very few cities not destroyed during World War 2! The history of this beautiful city dates back to 1233 when it was founded by the Teutonic Knights. You can still explore the castle ruins they left behind!

Toruń is also the birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus, a man who proved that Earth revolved around the sun and that the sun was the center of the universe. Last but not least, Toruń is known around the world as the home of the Gingerbread man!
