When your dentist is a fish. Do fish go to the dentist? Who knew? Yes, they do. On backstory today, we will explore a White-spotted filefish getting his teeth cleaned. Most fish visit a cleaning station to remove parasites from their mouths, gills, and skin. So come explore our dentist down under.

Casing point, last week's Under Sea G, was a white spotted filefish. This animal is way far away from all the other animals, which is very unusual behavior. It was also holding steady sideways. White-spotted filefish don't do that, and that's what made G go over to it. I did not know at the time that it was actually on a cleaning station, was getting all of its gills and its teeth clean. It's really amazing when you find an animal on a cleaning station. They will stay there, and let you get up really close. You gotta kind of work it, you can't just go flying in there. And so, it took about five minutes for me to get close up to the filefish, without him getting upset. When filefish get upset, they'll actually, the white spots they'll make them whiter. They'll also put their file up, that's on top of their head, giving you a sign that, hey, I'm uncomfortable. So, anytime that was happening, I would actually back off of it just a little ways or I would hold my ground, and maybe just change the position, because I certainly didn't wanna interrupt what was going on. It was a really special opportunity for myself to see a filefish on a cleaning station. Seen a lot of animals on cleaning stations, but I've never seen a filefish. By doing this technique and working in on the fish, I was able to get some really good film, which we're showing here, and have a really amazing encounter. Hey, this has been Storytime With G.
