Join us on a delightful adventure as we explore Melrose Falls, nestled just below Saluda, NC. On Saturday, Sherri and I set out in search of spring ephemerals, and the day exceeded our expectations. We were greeted by a vibrant tapestry of nature, spotting bloodroot, hepatica, star chickweed, and many more enchanting blooms along the trail.

The journey to Melrose Falls is as rewarding as the destination. Located between Saluda and Tryon, the trailhead is situated on US-176, between two bridges over the North Pacolet River. Parking is limited, but additional spots are available across the road.

The trail begins with a gentle uphill climb before leveling out and meandering through a lush forest. After about 0.15 miles, the path splits; taking the left trail leads you closer to the falls. The final descent to the main viewing area is steep and requires caution, especially near the cliffside.
