Let’s be real.

Most Christian songs just keep us comfortable on our way to Heaven.

Meanwhile, most of the world is rushing to H e l l.

Is this really God’s will for us—and for Christian music?

I’m old enough to remember musical revivalists like Keith Green.

🛌 He challenged our obsession with worldly comfort.
✝️ He insisted we never compromise in our faith.
🔥And most of all, he inspired us to go and tell the lost world about Jesus’s salvation before it’s too late.

Now, we’ve flipped Keith’s message—and more importantly, Jesus’s commands—on its head.

Which leads me to a question…

If Jesus wrote a song for Christian radio, what would he say? Here’s what I believe.

✝️ Jesus’s song would call us to “be zealous and repent” (Rev. 3:19).
📻 Meanwhile, our songs tell lukewarm, compromised believers to rest easy.

✝️ Jesus’s song would give us faith to live “free indeed” from sin (John 8:36).
📻 But our songs too often comfort nominal believers who’ve never really repented.

✝️ Finally, Jesus’s song would call us to GO and win OTHERS to Him (Matt. 28:19).
📻 Tragically, our songs usually focus on comforting ourselves.

Christian music should be a lot more like Jesus.
That’s part of why I wrote these lyrics in the 1980s.

When it comes to Jesus’s truth…

❌ We can’t hide it in our churches.
❌ We can’t leave it in the pews.

✅It’s time to spread the gospel message.
🫵 Christian, you’re the one God wants to use!
