Does Objective Morality Exist? - A philosophical presentation and discussion

Описание к видео Does Objective Morality Exist? - A philosophical presentation and discussion

Are there moral laws--rules that say what actions are right and wrong--that apply to everyone, everywhere, no matter what anyone thinks? You might think that the answer has to be 'no' because, after all, we have no scientific (or maybe even non-scientific) evidence of the existence of these kinds of moral laws. But, as discussed in this presentation, there may be a problem with this line of reasoning: one that preserves the possibility of objective morality, but also does not threaten the scientific world-view.

This presentation and discussion is part of the Great Converstaion, a series of talks, intended for and open to the public, presented by the Department of Philosophy at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This presentation, from Sept 17th, 2019, is by Dr. Jeffrey Kaplan, Assistant Professor of Philosophy at UNCG.
