Tropical Storm Cristobal was a complex early season cyclone which generated from the remnants of Tropical Storm Amanda in early June.

The storm peaked in the Bay of Campeche with winds of around 60mph before stalling and making landfall near Cuidad del Carmen. Cristobal delivered around 45 inches of rain to the landfall area in the days before and afterwards, as it weakened to a depression inland and circling northwards.

Cristobal become a tropical storm again when it entered the Gulf of Mexico, and again slowed down before striking eastern Louisiana, and then turned northwest and moved inland. After weakening to a depression again, Cristobal became one of the most inland tracking cyclones before turning post-tropical over northern Wisconsin.

As an extratropical cyclone, Cristobal looped around near James Bay, Canada, and eventually died off north of Ottawa as its remnant energy transferred into another extratropical low near Greenland.
