In US news and current events today, Senator Bernie Sanders, former Democratic presidential candidate, has endorses several progressive candidates for Congress in the upcoming 2020 election.

For election 2020, Bernie Sanders has endorsed no less that six qualified, progressive candidates in their upcoming Democratic primary races, all of whom share his progressive values and hope to move the country to the left on social, economic, domestic and foreign policy. Bernie endorses Charles Booker, running for Senate against Mitch McConnell, as well as Samelys Lopez, running for the House of Representatives in New York. Also in New York, Jamaal Bowman is running against a long-time establishment incumbent. Mondaire Jones, also running for a House seat, hopes to be the first openly gay Black member of Congress. Mike Siegel, running for the House, has hopes of flipping Texas blue, while activist Cori Bush is hoping to battle racism as St. Louis, Missouri's representative in Congress.
