Written by the late Chris Cornell, Soundgarden tribute of Black Hole Sun is performed by vocalist Ann Wilson of Heart and guitarist Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains. The Chris Cornell unplugged tribute occurred at the end of the In-Memoriam segment during the 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Cleveland, OH. The April 2018 event was broadcast on HBO.

Soundgarden is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2020 Nominee in the Performers category.

Written by frontman Chris Cornell, Black Hole Sun is from the band's fourth studio album Superunknown in 1994. Soundgarden's most recognizable and most popular song topped the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. The Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman lead vocalist died from suicide in May 2017 at age 52.
