Who's behind Joshy's Storytime?
Me. But my students know me as Ms. R.
I started this channel to help students like Joshy, who have disabilities.
Joshy is my son is the voice of the characters in our stories
I'm a special education teacher and have a master's degree in special education.
I wanted my students to have more access to books.
Not everyone has access to a computer or library.
But almost everyone has a smartphone.
Therefore, Joshy's storytime was born.
The goal was to connect actions with words through (simple) animation.
However, things changed when it was no longer my students, friends, and family watching our videos.
So now my goal is to reach as many students as I can.
Books are adapted and modified to make more sense to the early reader.
Each book will not be the same as the original.
We are not actors, all of the voices on our channel are done by family and friends.
Hopefully, we will get better with time.
