Bad news for Lewis Hamilton after the Dutch GP. The Ferrari driver has been hit with a five-place grid penalty for the upcoming Italian GP at Monza, plus two penalty points on his FIA licence. The sanction came after stewards ruled he failed to slow down enough under double yellow flags before pit entry.

According to the FIA, Lewis only reduced his speed by around 20 km/h, far less than the “significant reduction” required. Data showed he lifted only slightly and braked late, which the officials judged unsafe for marshals and competitors. After reviewing footage, telemetry, and team input, the verdict was clear: his actions did not meet the regulations.

The penalty adds to Ferrari’s tough weekend in Zandvoort. Now Lewis faces a harder task at Monza, starting lower on the grid and needing a strong recovery drive to limit the damage.
