In this video, we teambuild around Lugia for the Regulation G format for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet VGC. Lugia is a very difficult restricted legendary to use overall. With just a base 90 special attack, the damage output is very poor. It relies on Calm Mind set up, but even then at least 2 are necessary to put out respectable damage output from a legendary. Psychic/Flying typing is also a bad maatchup into both Calyrexes & Miraidon. If one wishes to use a legendary with Calm Mind setup, Terapagos, Kyogre, and even Calyrex Shadow Rider are much better choices. Nonetheless, the bulk is excellent with triple digit stats in hp, defense, and special defense and Multiscale is also a decent ability. From here, keeping it healed with options like Comfey and Amoongus are must-have, while fake out and screens can allow it to set up easily. Chi-Yu is also a good partner for it thanks to beads of ruin.
