Prawns biryani is one of the popular biryani recipes in nonveg.very easy to make and delicious too.
Ingredients-
Prawns- 350 gms
Basmati rice- 500gms
Fried onions- 3
Chopped onion-1,tomato-1,mintleaves,corinder(1 bowl),3 green chillis,5 garlic cloves,1 inch ginger,2 lemon.
1 tsp turmeric powder,2 tsp red chilli powder
Cumin powder- 1 tsp
Biryani masala- 2 tsp
Whole spices- 2 bay leaves,5 pepper corn,4 cloves,1 inch cinamon stick,3 green cardamon,1 tsp black cumin
Salt
Ghee
Oil
Method-
soak rice for 1 hour
marinate prawns with turmeric,red chilli,cumin/corinder ,biryani masala powder ,2 lemon juice and salt.
Boil 1.5 ltr water.
Heat 2 tsp ghee, put whole spices, saute. put soak rice and boil water. Add salt and cook rice. Once rice is cooked, strain excess water.in another pot, heat oil. Put onion, try till translucent. Add green chillis and crush garlic ginger. Saute for few seconds. add tomato. Cook till it becomes soft. Add marinated prawns. Cover with lid and cook for 15 mins on low flame.After 15 mins,keep heavy pan ,and keep pot on it. Put fry onion,mchopped mintleaves and coriender. put layer of rice, fry onion ,coriender .put ghee and give dum for 30 mins.
