Описание к видео Severe Storms Possible Friday-Saturday, Then Cooler Air Follows | Gulf Coast Forecast

Your Mobile-Pensacola and Gulf Coast weather forecast for Thursday, January 8, 2026.

A very warm January pattern continues across the Gulf Coast, but changes are coming. This forecast covers fog tonight, a low-end and conditional storm chance Friday and Saturday, and a noticeable cooldown behind a cold front this weekend. Storm placement will be key, especially for inland areas.

IN THIS FORECAST:

Unseasonably warm temperatures continue short-term
Dense fog possible tonight, especially near and east of I-65
Low-end severe storm chance Friday, mainly inland
Widespread rain Saturday with a lower severe risk
Cooler, drier air arrives late weekend into next week

FORECAST BREAKDOWN:

TONIGHT:
Patchy to locally dense fog develops late, especially inland and east of I-65. Visibility may be reduced for the Friday morning commute.

FRIDAY:
A band of showers and storms may set up across inland counties Friday afternoon into the evening. If this band moves over your area, storms could be strong with gusty winds, hail, or an isolated tornado. Areas east of I-65 are more likely to stay quieter.

SATURDAY:
A cold front brings widespread rain and a few thunderstorms Saturday morning into early afternoon. The severe threat is lower than Friday, with gusty winds or small hail possible before storms exit.

LOOKING AHEAD:
Behind the front, cooler and drier air settles in. Highs drop into the 50s with colder mornings early next week.
