Making a 1940's Dress - Pink Floral Dress

Описание к видео Making a 1940's Dress - Pink Floral Dress

Yes, I know it's probably cold and miserable in other parts of the world, but where I live, it's perfect timing for a cute spring/summer dress made out of light breathable fabrics like linen and cotton.

In this video, I go through the construction process of how I made a modern adaption of #Vintage #Vogue pattern V9052. The pattern is a re-release of an original #1940s dress. I chose this pattern because it's a perfect style for work and the weather in Australia (Summer but this dress is perfect for Spring too!). I made it more modern by using a cute fresh floral printed linen and also made some changes such as adding lining and shortening the length of the dress. I can definitely see this dress being worn in the modern day for weddings, garden parties, summer picnics, you name it! I know for sure this piece will become a major love in my wardrobe. I hope you like it too!

About Me:

A dreamer, thinker, and lover of all things sewing, fantasy and costume related.

I am a sewing hobbyist and lover of fantasy and historical costumes, but I also dabble in modern garment alterations sometimes.

When first starting this YouTube channel, I had so many designs, ideas and concepts for fantasy movie costumes, which I illustrated through the use of photoshop. Now my interests lie with actually physically making and creating.

Of course, I don't have the time and resources to make garments as spectacular as my photoshop designs, but I am still able to enjoy the process of constructing simpler items from start to finish.

On this channel, you will find a wealth of sewing diary vlogs in which I share my sewing journey and thoughts. I am an avid watcher of fellow seamstresses here on YouTube (among my favourites include Angela Clayton, Bernadette Banner and Morgan Donner) and so I thought that I would join in on the fun and upload some content of my own. Hopefully it's helpful to someone out there!
