Tip: Initial recordings sounded fine in person, but offkey when recorded. Using a capo, transposing to other keys, and changing instruments did not fix the problem. Somehow, my voice was going offkey going into the standup microphone. I switched to using a lapel microphone USB, and voice recorded fine! Praise God for revelation and wisdom.

This Electric Strum Box Ukulele (SBU) is less than $20 and I'd say it's ok. Just need some creative project work. Quality strings, bushings on nuts, 1/4"+ drill bits, It's an acceptable buy for practicing, and would more loudly expose weaknesses in techniques.
