José Manuel BARROSO, President of the European Commission, visited today the Portuguese island of Madeira and the several sites damaged by a storm in last February.
He was accompanied by Alberto JOAO JARDIM, President of the Regional Government of Madeira, and by Eng° SANTOS COSTA, General Secretary for Social Equipment.
Last Saturday 20th of February, the storms were the deadliest to hit Madeira since October 1993.
