How To Make Easy Homemade Lemon Squares

Ingredients

2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup powdered sugar, plus extra for garnish
1/2 cup chopped pecans, optional
1 cup salted butter, melted
2 cups granulated sugar
1 tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
4 eggs
1/2 cup lemon juice
2 teaspoons lemon zest

Directions

Preheat oven to 350F. Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish.

For crust, stir together flour, powdered sugar and pecans. Add melted butter and stir just until mixture comes together. Let dough rest for 5 minutes. Press dough firmly into prepared baking dish, creating a nice even layer on the bottom of the pan. Bake approximately 20-25 minutes or until light golden brown.

For filling, stir together sugar, flour and baking powder. Whisk in the eggs and then the lemon juice and zest until completely combined. Pour filling over prepared, warm crust. Bake approximately 20-25. minutes or until lightly golden brown. Garnish with powdered sugar
