Children in need of Care and Protection JJ Act, 2015 by Mala Sonawadekar

Juvenile is similar to the word "child" defined as a person who has not completed 18 years of age. This is a universally accepted definition of a child. The provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 apply to all matters concerning "Children in Need of Care and Protection" (CNCP) and "Children in Conflict with Law" (CCL).
The JJ Act 2015 incorporates general principles as guidelines to the Government, institutions and authorities constituted under it.
The child welfare committee is the sole authority to deal with matters related to children in need of care and protection. The committee has the final power to dispose of cases for care, protection, treatment, development, and rehabilitation of the children. There are various categories of children who are in need of care and protection such as children without a home, victims of child labor, abused or neglected, missing, a victim of child marriage, orphans, surrendered, abandoned, and trafficked victims. The child who is presented before the child welfare committee requires attention and care as they are victims of various kinds of crimes.
