Piles of Smallmouth Bass & Striper Action - Day One, Fishing Lake Powell, Early October

Day One of a two day trip on Lake Powell right at the end of Sept/beginning October 2022 brought mucho success!
The first day was spent fishing the entirety of Rock Creek...really...I think I trolled and graphed the entire canyon. I was able to find some Striper and then it just shut down as the heat of the day increased. The lake was (is) still busy with traffic, plenty of houseboats and jet skis/ wake boats buzzing around.
As the day progressed I moved to shady sections and got into thick schools of Smallmouth on rock piles around thirty feet deep. One after the other and this continued for some time.
I finally moved to a small cove where I intended to camp and fished till sunset, bringing in Striper and more Smallies. Too much fun on the ultra light set up I was using!
