Did you know that Rye brome, is one of the oldest cultivated cereal in Europe?
This is a spring-sown unique variety of Rye brome, Bromus secalinus, which is ripening. Sown 28 May 2020 and filmed 29 August.
Rye brome, together with Great Rye brome ,B. grossus, are examples of ancient cereals from the Stone and Bronze Ages that are beginning to be grown again for bread, beer, groats, etc. Part of the project "Ancient cereals for future harvests!". They can be called The forgotten grain. One of the oldest cultivated cereal that have been grown in Sweden and other parts of Europe since ~4000 BC, but now are forgotten.

Many other varieties of Rye brome (autumn-sown varieties), Great Rye brome B. grossus and Brome of the Ardennes, B. bromoideus, are also grown on the farm.

Vårsådd unik sort av Råglosta, Bromus secalinus, som går mot mognad. Såddes 28 maj 2020 och filmad 29 augusti.
Råglosta är tillsammans med Speltlosta, B. grossus, exempel på forntida sädesslag från sten- och bronsåldern som börjar odlas igen för bröd, öl, gryn etc. En del i projektet "Forntida sädesslag för framtida skördar!".

På lägdan så odlas även många andra sorter av Råglosta (höstsådda varianter), Speltlosta B. grossus samt Ardennerlosta B. bromoideus.

Lägdan återfinns i Eldsmark, Örnsköldsvik, Höga Kusten, Ångermanland.
