This is the mourning dove who got very lucky when my husband returned home and saw a hawk fly off & this fellow pop up from the ground. I suppose the car startled the hawk. The dove can fly and appears to have gotten away with only minor injuries considering how close s/he came to being dinner 😬🤕🕊️❤️‍🩹
