Introducing Forests DAO, saving the planet a profitable way with NFTs for Amazonian Rainforest Protection.
Did you know that landowners in Brazil are allowed to use only 20% of their farms? this leads in many cases to illegal logging and deforestation.
Also, due to international regulations, the demand for carbon credits will skyrocket over the next 5 years, causing forest land prices to rise exponentially.
This is where ForestsDAO is making a difference, because we farm our own carbon credits, by owning real land in the Brazilian rainforest!
But... how does it work!?
We are purchasing opportunity forests. Starting with over 60.000 acres of rainforest.
Each acre equals 1.6 Tons of carbon capture, and is being tokenized into an NFT.
Investors buy our NFTs, each of which represents a real acre of rainforest, and its carbon footprint credit for live.
Join us to become a solution for climate change by owning and helping to protect the rainforest, and profit from the next big market: carbon credits.

What is a DAO and how does it work?
A DAO or Decentralized Autonomous Organization is a Decentralized Autonomous Organization. Or what is the same, it is an organization that is controlled by algorithms or smart contracts, it is not bound to any particular law, as it is controlled by a blockchain and smart contracts.
In their most basic form, DAOs are groups that come together for a common purpose, such as investing in startups, managing a stable cryptocurrency, or buying a bunch of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
What is a smart contract?
A smart contract is a special type of instruction that is stored in the blockchain. It also has the ability to self-execute actions according to a set of parameters already programmed. All this in an immutable, transparent and completely secure way.
What gives value to an NFT?
The value of an NFT lies in the perception of it at the time of purchase or sale. Just as there is a lot of speculation around cryptocurrencies, in NFTs we also face the same dilemma.
There is no rule book on how to determine the value of an NFT. The metrics you use to evaluate private companies or conventional investment vehicles, such as stocks, are simply not applicable to NFTs. Generally, the payment made by the last buyer gives some indication of value.
How do carbon credits work?
A carbon credit is a unit of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) that represents emissions that are reduced, avoided or sequestered somewhere to offset emissions occurring elsewhere (1 credit = 1 tCO2e).
What are the benefits of carbon credits?
The transaction of carbon credits - a carbon credit represents the right to emit one ton of carbon dioxide - mitigates the generation of greenhouse gases, benefiting companies that do not emit or reduce emissions and making those that emit more than allowed pay.
What is carbon credit NFT?
ECC's system records all transactions on the blockchain, and certified carbon credits are sold as a transferrable Non-Fungible Token (NFT). The individual or business can select the amount of carbon credits they wish to buy using the online calculator, and a digital carbon offset certificate is delivered.
Why is it important to protect the Amazon rainforest?
The preservation of the Amazon is essential for Brazil's agriculture, food production and energy production. Deforestation disrupts evapotranspiration, damages the extent of the "flying rivers" and affects rainfall in many South American countries.
Healthy forests clean the air and regulate the climate. Living forests sustain life: they benefit people, plants and animals for all the invisible work they do as a carbon store. They also help control the planet's climate and rainfall.
What percentage of the Amazon does Brazil have?
As an economic giant and one of the largest democracies on the planet, Brazil holds a position of influence in South America. Brazil accounts for 65% of the Amazon rainforest and has lost an estimated 700,000 km² to deforestation since 1970.
What agricultural practices are carried out in the forest?
In most cases, they do not do any previous agricultural work, although sometimes they weed in order to expand the fields. They grow beans or chiclayo, yucca or manioc, sweet potato, peanuts, pallar (Phaseolus lunatus), watermelon and rice, among other food species.
What is the clearing of the Amazon?
It is estimated that between 1985 and 2017, 9% of Amazon forests disappeared, reducing their capacity to absorb carbon emissions, responsible for climate change. Deforestation is mainly due to land clearing for agricultural purposes, especially cattle raising.
